Ye Genyou, a young Chinese calligraphy prodigy yesterday did a demonstration in Changsha. He is capable of simultaneously holding and independantly handling 5 paint brushes to write 5 different characters.
Five paint brushes in parallel, two in each hand and one in the mouth (here photographed on the 4th of December 2006). The Chinese calligraphy authorities recognise in his style, the quality, the rhythm and the vigour of traditional calligraphy.
Ye Genyou - 叶根友, native of Hangzhou is the inventor of this Chinese calligraphy technique that he has used for 12 years. His record of 39 seconds to write the five characters “春江花月夜” (title of a Tang poem dedicated to the moon) allows him to appear in the Guinness book of records. Labarik
