Just read the caption of this thread and it was enough for me.
Though I might excuse the rude manners of the average Chinese people and their impoliteness, I can't forgive them for their resentment and inhumanity towards people who were born different. I taveled in China for some months and encountered many of their strange behaviours. But I really can't explain their lack of sympathy and unwillingness to help a stranger or a tourist who comes to visit their land. It's quite easy to feel this in the air. The cold emotionless facial expressions when speaking with them. Their refusal to help one on the street just because he or she is a foreigner. Many times I felt helpless and sought for some advice. Yet, many of them seemed not to care as though I am a stray dog. I haven't witnessed such behaviour in other cultures I had the chance to meet with. Some cultures tend to receive foreigners as their guests. They try their best to be good hosts and welcome warmly the people who visit their country. It seems that the notion of hospitability and warm-heartedness are yet strange to the Chinese mentality. To put it further, many Chinese have a very developed sense of trade. And they do it in a very dishonest way. Though being so unfriendly to foreigners, they add up another disadvantage of being professional cheaters. They will try to rip off a foreigner by all kinds of mean tricks. They have no shame or self-respect regarding this. One might think they need money to support their children and family. Yet, the economial conditions of many of them are much better than those people who live in S.E.A. I have visited Myanmar ( Burma ) which borders China at the South. The people of this country are really impoverished and beggars are to be found almost everywhere. Yet, the Burmese people are really honest compared to Chinese. And they are gentle-behaving too. Whatever the reasons which cause Chinese people to behave the way they do, I really can't forgive many of them for their misconduct. And it is almost 4 year after I am back home. China was an ordeal for me. Re: My personal opinion about average Chinese people

Another daily experience I have with Chinese people is doing business with them by the internet. I work in a trading company dealing with electronic components. Many Chinese companies tend to lie and not keep their promise regarding conditions agreed upon in advance. It is really risky to trust them or send them money in advance.
I really feel no respect for them. Re: My personal opinion about average Chinese people

Hi Kurt,
I have lived in China for nearly 20 years before I moved to live in Australia for another 10 years. Personally I agree with part of your opinions regarding average Chinese people. I read through some of comments from other people either local chinese or people from other countries. My personal opinions are: 1. We need know there is huge culture difference between chinese and christian culture; 2. Even inside the christian culture, the difference between different countries are also different. Dutch culuture is definately different to Australian. ( I have quite a few dutch friends here. And they are quite different to English background Australians even though they are born and grown up in Australia.) 3. Every culture has is good and bad side. I don't think we can say which one is better than the other. 4. As the hygien thing of chinese, i admit average chinese are not caring too much of the public cleaness. It is a really bad habit. There is a long way for chinese people to improve. The basic reason behind it is poverish. Everyone loves walking or living in a clean place. The short of public cleaning system such as litter colletions etc makes it hard for average chinese keep the public clean. It is not the nature of average chinese. 5. The current chinese education system is totally manipulated by chinese government in someway. In another world, people have been educated to be not themselves. ( that is also why you think chinese lies a lot.) People lie to survive. 6. Personal suggestion, you need down yourself to understand chinese people rather than stand in a priority position and judge them. Otherwise you will never be able to understand the people and culuture there. ( When I read the book by Mark Polo, I think back then an average chinese would also think of european the same way as you think of chinese now.) 7. Nothinkg is wrong for people discriminate each other. It is a nature of human being as an animal. Finally good luck for your stay in China. Hopefully you will get what you want to know.... Cheers. I hate to have to agree with Kurt but a lack of public litter collections and the public cleaning system is not what causes the mess. It's only because China has such a GREAT Public Cleaning System (they pay poor people to sweep continually) that China isn't worse. And there are little bins all over the streets. It seems to be in many Chinese's nature to throw stuff, spit and generally make a mess everywhere in public. Not all Chinese by any stretch, but this is one problem that seems very wide spread... Why you guys are into some subjective topics so much??
I say, the thread poster kurt is an attention-hungry and ex parte drill guy, sorry, as you see, my comment is also so subjective and stinky, that's all. If you keep drilling and digging, then nothing really matters, the most original essence of this world is--nothing. The form is emptiness, and the emptiness is the form. And plus---existence is reasonable, don't be a mr question, you will live much easier and happier Re: My personal opinion about average Chinese people

Re: My personal opinion about average Chinese people

why people always think we are trying to bash China? Not necessary at all, you know? We all hope China to be a better place on the earth.. Hey, China achieved economic wonder; don’t you think human rights and justice are less important than GDP? Of course, there is corruption too, I mean I miss old time of China, real socialism, while people are not suffer from social injustice. Re: My personal opinion about average Chinese people
