Holland Malando Light Music Orchestra is a great light music orchestra with a long history. As another well-known light music orchestra – Mantovani, Malando also marks the beginning of light music. It is established by Arie Maasland, the grandfather of Danny Malando, and held its first concert in the United States in 1939, July 1st. With more than twenty years development, Malando has become one of the most popular orchestra the world over.
In 1999, Danny Malando, the third generation of Malando family and the grandson of Arie Maasland, began to take charge of the orchestra and became the new orchestra leader. To adapt to the times and bring vitality to the orchestra, he not only renewed the orchestra’s music style, but also did personnel adjustment to make the team more fashionable and younger. Like his grandfather and father, his pursuit of perfection, unique insights on music, along with widely-accepted music style, help contribute to form the unique charm of the Malando Orchestra.
Right before the Chinese National Day, Danny Malando and the Malando Orchestra will give Beijing’s music fans a great concert filled with passion, romance and fashion on September, 26th. The catchy rhythms and evocative sounds will ensure an evening full of musical delight. Moreover, unlike other light music concerts, the concert will combine light music with fabulous dance performance, such as Waltz, Tango, Cha-Cha and Samba. The audience, which is also an important part of the show, will get an opportunity to interact with the performers on the stage.
