Director of the 2008 Beijing Paralympic opening ceremony, Zhang Jigang,has premiered his latest ethnic

dance project jin Beijing. The show called " Hua'er"or "Flowers"taps into the rich cultural heritage of

northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
The dance is named after renowned Hui ethnic singer, Hua'er. It combines Ningxia local ballads with Hui

ethnic dances in the romantic story of Hau'er and shepherd Yang Ge.
The show is the result of three years of hard work, with Zhang and the production team visiting Ningxia

several times. Its line up includes composer Zhao Jiping, playwright Zhang Zongcan and singer Tan Jing,

Wang Hongweo and Lei Jia.
The production has impresses audiences with its colorful lighting and extraordinary audio effects.
An audience member said,"The stage is beautiful,with its big screen and lighting.Each performers has

brought out the full extent of their roles."
