2009 was the year in which Joris Voorn's popularity exploded. He released the "Balance014" compilation. It managed to mix approximately 100 songs into a double CD, morphing them into a collective mix. Only Richie Hawtin had managed to create such a challenging feed successfully in the past in his DE9 series.

Joris also released the "Dusty House Room" EPs which were a tremendous commercial success. His remix of Nalin & Kane's "Beachball" was one of the greater productions heard at the Miami Winter Music Conference and his "Sweep the Floor" was the Ibiza anthem of 2009. Joris Voorn was crowned Best Breakthrough at the annual Ibiza DJ Awards and climbed from 35th to 10th place in the Resident Advisor's DJ top 100.2009 included performances at Awakenings Festival, Space Ibiza, Amnesia and Sensation, as well as appearing in Pete Tong's Essential Mix. He is working on a new album to be released in 2012.
