The Chinese are not able to separate Business from pleasure, nor are they able to separate business with foreign countries with that countries laws and ideals. They honestly believe that, since someone trades and is friends with them, that they should have a say over what people do in their own country, ridicules of course but tell the Chinese that. Arrogant, of course, out of line, of course, law breaking, of course, but can you prove it, and even could you, the people who did the hacking and sent the threats are in China, so what can you do? Stop making China the center of such events. Everyone knows if you do something to honour China like the Berlin book festival tried to do they will become pushy, insulting and controlling so stop making things to honour them. If China wants to be that way, let them go back to being a closed border country incapable of feeding it's people.
China needs to learn proper manners in dealing with other countries but it's still a very young country, it will learn as it gets strong. Or it'll cause a war. Either way things will get solved... China has it's old feudal civilization, but when it comes to modern civilization,China is a juvenile.China should get a better understanding of world mainstream standard of behavior. hi Kurt,
Do you know under minority chinese have a lot of priorities than the Han Chinese? ( I am a minority chinese in Australia.... )
Under Mao's era, everyone was the same. ( if you and I are working the same job, we will get the same payment and same condition. ) But currently the huge difference started seperate people apart. Not just between same people but also between the majority chinese and the minority people. In Xijiang, the minority has a lot of special assistance from the government which the Han people can't get. Also for a lot of good jobs, the minority people can't get because the Han people moved from inland has better education and skills. It definately will create conflicts. Also who Rebiya Kadeer is and what she has talked about in Melbourne are like talking a big story. I know it is not true because I am a minority such as religion prosecution etc. My parents are muslims. They go to mosque without any harrassments. And same to everyone i know. SO think in this way, imagine you were a Han chinese, and you know your neighbour guy can get 1000 dollars each month from the government or whatever benefit which he can get but you can't becasue he is a minority. and suddently he went overseas and told others you did this did that to him which you never have committed. What will be your reaction? cheers. Melbguy Wrote:

I don't care how many benefits chinese government given to minority,I known something about it,what I care is freedom of speech.I don't care if Rebiya or Dalailama are a liars or not, that's not the point, the point is,if you don't give your enemy or dissident the right to express their different views,no matter how hard you beat drum for democracy of china yourself, all kinds of democracy you are talking about for me is just bullshit.that's the essential of democracy. Or we can play your "what if..." game. What if someone who was your minority in your home town raped a Han girl (not you, you had nothing to do with it) and after the Police said there wasn't enoguh evidence to convict them so the other Han in your city beat you to death... Imagine what your friend's reaction would be... Maybe protests? violence? riots? Just a thought... Re: China looks to export censorship (BBC)

This is probably one of the leading factors why I leave China in my teen. As I am a radical person, I don’t like to follow what mainstream medias told us. I love questioning.
Hey, I live in a place where Hong Kong TV station is available, I grow up watching GI Joe, “fight for freedom”.haha… so yes I was polluted by American pop culture when I was really really young, let’s say 6 years old. I mean, come on, every medias in the western countries have obligation to give critics to government. Being a president or Prime Minister, or government themselves, have to have ability to listen a different view. 良药苦口,利于病, 忠言逆耳,利于行。 Chinese should all understand this quote eh? Then again, it does not mean it’s totally freedom here in west too, you have to be careful what you put on facebook, otherwise your employer or business might sue your ass off. Black hawk landed on my backyard shit like that….haha Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
