I have a friend whose mother is like a second mother to me. She's 46 now, but a few years ago I ran into her at a convenience store and stopped to say hi.

My friend was there along with a man a few years older then me that I didn't know. When I asked her if anything was new, my friend started laughing and shaking her head while her mom hid behind the man. She was nervously laughing while hiding, and couldn't get a word out to explain why she was behaving so oddly. It took me a while to figure out what was going on, but when I did I stood in shock and started laughing out of disbelief.

When things settled down, and we regained our composure, the man introduced himself and said, "Yeah, it's exactly what you think. It's exactly how it looks..." I then turned to her in shock and couldn't stop shaking my head.

He was only three years older than me and I was 16 at the time. The guy was old enough to be my brother! The whole thing was very odd and bizarre to me. I didn't mind them being together so long as they were happy, but the thought that he could be my brother...
