Temperature metaphors in Chinese language

Hi Everyone,

I am doing a cross cultural study of temperature (hot/cold) metaphors for my honours thesis, particularly with regards to social exclusion ie. english version would be giving someone the 'cold shoulder'. Does anyone have any suggestions for commonly used chinese metaphors, particularly dealing with emotions?
