I don't know where should I ask this so I just put it here and hope someone might help me. I use google translator to translate taobao.com and I can understand most but there're a couple of things I don't understand. First of all, about the seller's promotions, can anybody please explain to me how it works? I saw some items with a price of 78 yuan and below that there's a line that says "48 yuan, seller promotion". How can I get this price? Also, when I purchase something, let's say a ring, at 78 yuan for eg, they gave me 39 points. My question is: what these points are for? Can I use these points to buy something else on Taobao?

most of the time, seller promotion price is just in a specific time. you have to ask the seller if you can still get that price at that time.
and about the points. it can be used when you need to buy something in Taobao. it can used as money. eg. 39 points can be used as 0.39 yuan.

sometime these points only to buy in the one same shop!

It is a marketing strategy to let you consumers consume more because you have some points can be equial to some money, but only in this shops. Those points are like the coupon, you can use them to buy some products with lower price, because those points are worth in amount of money. Seller promotion is like sale price for you or for a specific period of time, like limited time in this price.
