Hi all,

Does there exist a proverb or idiom in Chinese that is roughly the equivalent of the English saying, "don't judge a book by its cover?"

Thanks

人不可貌相
it means one can not judge others just by their appearances. i think it is the same meaning as "don't judge a book by its cover"

Chinese equivalent of "don't judge a book by its cover" idiom is:勿以貌取人,which means you can't only judge someone or something just by their looks

人不可貌相 or 勿以貌取人
Both are correct, I think.
The meaning is "Never judge a man by his looks."
