I've been trying my best recently to watch more Chinese movies and I was looking for recommendations and opinions from people.

I watched 集结号 (ji jie hao- Assembly) last night and thought it was quite impressive. The special effects and action scenes weren't quite on par with Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, The Pacific etc but I think the Director portrayed that tumultuous time quite well. It is without doubt the best Chinese war production I have seen.

What has everyone else been watching recently?

It is really creative,and the director is the main actor in this movie.It won't let you down.

I checked it out last night. I thought it was really cool-quite stylish and clever. The only bad thing I would say about it is that there seemed to be a lot of scenes, which were essentially the same (1 person tricking the other) but they didn't really move the story on or develop the characters.

I think 让子弹飞 is truly a good, hilarious movie.

I heard the movie "Assassin" was quite intense and moving, however I haven't watched it ... yet.

Yes Im with assissin movie, its the best chinese movie ive ever seen.

My favorite movie is the « Iron Monkey » (2001), directed by Yuen Wo-Ping.

Iron monkey was a great film

i love Memoir of Geisha. it was starred with some great Chinese actresses and actors. i watched this movie for twice and have a plan to watch it again today. other great movie is Kungfu Panda. that was the greatest and funniest Chinese animation movie i've ever watch.

A lot of Chinese Movies have become favorites of mine. Among them are Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Hero, Shaolin Soccer, So Close, House Of Flying Daggers, The Banquet and The Myth. I love martial arts movies and they really do these type of movies the best.

let the bullet fly directed by JiangWen are so perfect.

best chinese movie... i think there are many chinese movies come with chinese actors and use chinese language as well. some of them even adapted into american movies. but as this movie industries increase, there are some chinese movies use american language (of course for international market). i love some chinese movies, Kung Fu hustle, CJ7 (i love the most), and memoir of geisha.

I liked Kung Fu Hustle, so close, shaolin soccer. For me they are the best chinese movies so far.. I'll watch some that is mentioned here. Thanks!

I would suggest City Life and Death. It is a thought provoking movie that shows the cruelty of war as well as the extremes of humanity. This movie is about the rape of Nanking in the viewpoint of several different protagonists from the Chinese soldiers trying their utmost to defend the city, a Chinese family in what is known as "safe zone" to a young Japanese officer.

i recommend <非诚勿扰2》，what a good movie!

I want to recommend <窃听风云2>, I like the playactors Qingyun Liu, Yanzu Wu, Tianle Gu, all of them are handsome men and professional actors.

I like all Jackie Chan's movies. He is funny.

My favourite Chinese movie ever is without any doubt Still Life by Jia Zhangke.
