I use the method of memorizing not only words but also full sentenceslong time before the student can fully understand how they are constructed grammatically. Of course, eventually we do study the grammar properly, but the imitation of everything what they hear and the experimenting on with the language comes firstly. That's how you once learned your mother tongue. I am convinced that that is also the best way to learn a second language even though.
