All pretty nifty photos--my parents have been going to China for a few years, and they often bring back extremely elaborate clothing (just for display, of course--not sure how easy some of them would be to wear around town!).

These beautiful Chinese ancient dresses are from the following traditional Chinese clothing workshop:
Hanfu

Clothes represent the culture of this ancient place. Admire.

Is that why almost everyone in China wears the Manchurian ethnic clothing known as the qiapo/cheongsam? It looks fine on women, but is absolutely ugly for men.

The Qing Dynasty forced everyone in China to wear the ethnic Manchurian garb, which is why the hanfu is no longer worn.

Technically the traditional clothes is the Hanfu, since it was worn for thousands of years by the mainstream sinitic culture.

I think that the sleeves and the fact that they are so extenuated, Make this slightly more attractive than the Japanese Kimono. That's just my honest opinion.

Chinese clothing is not a specific description or name.
The clothing style changed a lot through time.
The most popular among the world should Hanfu,Tangfu, and Qing dynasty clothing. Those three represent the most prosperous dynasties in China history.
Personally I like Hanfu the most.

I love to look at ancient Chinese clothing. It's so nice, beautiful and artistic. One of the reasons why I like to watch period Chinese movies and TV dramas are their ancient outfits and their hair.
