how to say,dui lian is just two sentences ,they are relatively to each other,
and have opposite means ,like sky to earth, male to female ,one to millian
,they have the same number of words,u can consider it as a form of poem,
hehe

Generrally,"Dui lian" is posted on the two side of a door. And there are many kinds "Dui lian", Such as "Chun Lian" posted on Spring Festival,"Xi Lian", posted on one's Wedding Day, "Wan Lian" posted when one die.
You can refer to the below photos of "Dui Lian".

Dui Lian is a traditional literature form in Chinese history. It dates back to the Tjing Dynasty in 290AD.

A simple definition would be, Dui Lian is a Chinese traditional poem with only two sentences, and a short term to recapture the whole idea.
The two sentences follow general structures of syllables, just like the meter used in an English verse.
The two sentences should also follow the 'rule of pairs', referring to the meaning of individual words, simple nouns like 'Earth' to 'Sky', 'Fish' to 'Bird', as well as short terms like 'Flower falls' to 'Swan returns'.

Dui Lian is normally pasted around the main gate of Chinese house (a.k.a 'Men Lian'), especially during the lunar new year, showing best wishes.
