Hi guys,
I'm extremely courious what that old poem means? bests, All my fathers and elders in "Zhongyuan"do not just talk and let the royals talk about that which isn't good to decline is what the returning swans talk about on their way to "Jiangnan". Wow! Thanks a lot! The author of this old poem is Yang Wan Li ((1127~1206),there is an background while he wrote this poem.
Yang Wan Li was in NanSong Dynasty ,he care about Politics and the living situation of ordinary people .But at that time ,wars happned between NanSong with Jin(You can understand as another Nationality ),one day Yan wan li appointed to welcome Jin's diplomatic envoy who came to congradulate the arrival of NEW YEAR. He saw the current situation of Nansong's border was seperated with Jin ,and reminded the poor life (since war, some people die ,some people moved out from hometown ,and get diseases from the way to another places ,etc) of ordinary people ,he felt upset and wrote this poem . If understand only from those Chinese charactera ,it means those people kept complaining about their poor life to official of Nan'song ,but wild goose (an animial ,can fly ) that can't speak as like human that at least they can fly to Jiang'an(a place) every year .Yes , the logic of the poem seems ridiculous , indeed author expressed his minds in a sarcastic way ,from deep meaning of this poem is yang wanli was very unsatisfied with their current Nansong Dynasty's goverment ,because their inability to protect their own country ,so Jin can invade and bring those much pain and suffering to ordinary people ,that they need to leave their hometown .(well ,for foreigners maybe do not think hometown is so important ,but hometown means root + soul for Chinese ,so you could understand why Spring Festival is important for Chinese ,because means reunion). Hmm,I wish my explanation can clear your doubts . B&R -Lily ![]() Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
