Hi there!

I'm planning on going to graduate school in September '12 to get my MBA. I applied to Renmin University and Xiamen University. I have a feeling I will get accepted to both schools, and if all else is the same, I can't decide which city I would rather live in.

After graduating from college, I spent a couple years teaching English and learning Mandarin in Taipei, Taiwan. I moved back to the US in 2010 for work, and now I'm looking to go to China for an MBA as well as continue to study Chinese. I enjoy living in a city, but I do like nature and beautiful scenery. I really like to go out drink/dance and have a good time, so that's important to me as well. Any advice on which city you think would be more suitable would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to hear some experiences from either city.

If you like city with the nature and beautiful scenery as you said, I think Xiamen will be more suitable. I live in Beijing now, but I am planning to move to Xiamen with my husband, he also likes this city more than Beijing.

Thanks for the reply. I've decided to accept the offer at Xiada. I figured it would be a better place to live, whereas Beijing might be a better place to visit.

Hello, I know the two cities, and I go to play. Relative to character, I prefer to xiamen, I think scenery is so beautiful, and the air is very good, Beijing, in my opinion, the traffic is very to bear.

I've heard that Xiamen is a much more relaxed (as relaxed as is possible in China!) than Beijing. Plus the pollution in Beijing can be very dangerous for your health.
