Any place is fine. Just understand even though the shit is cheap they still aren't going to lower the prices for you like they will for other Chinese people...except for in my wife's case or any other Chinese girl with a Western guy. It's kinda shitty.

Dear Anna...

China is best place for shopping..Foreigners like to make shopping here..because for cheap prices you can find here normally quality goods..

If you'll stay in Beijing then i can suggest you more things...

at first there several shopping places for foreigners. they are Huaqiao Market and Silk Market at Yonganli subway station in Beijing. You can find there famous brands. of course this places are bargain markets. so there for example starting price for bag from Lui Vuitton could be 800 RMB but you can buy it after bargaining for a 100 or 150. so try to make good bargain in this places. Sellers are trained and they can do everything for selling their goods. sellers can speak a little bit in several languages. but their english is very good than other Chinese...

if you'll have problems with language you can visit Yabao Lu (Yabao Street) in Beijing. in this street everybody speaking in Russian. if you can visit this street you will feel yourself in ex USSR. even Chinese carters in this street can speak in Russian. very funny...you can find many peoples from ex USSR here. there are many wholsale markets there as Tanya, New Yabao and etc...
Another places for normal shopping is in the center. right and left side of (Tian an men Square - Kreml of China) Xidan and Wangfujing streets. there prices is high even equal in Paris and Milan. more world brands but very expensive...so you should choose...

about Shanghai..it's for me not good place for shopping...because this city so comunicated...you can spend more time but cannot buy more things , because city very huge...There one of the normally places is Nanjing street. you can find brands for normally prices...if you wanna souvenirs in Shanghai , the best places in Yu Yuan garden.

Also Souvenir's in Beijing, the best place is Panjiayuan and Houhai.

if there some questions you can contact with me: msn parvizchina@hotmail.com

Good Luck

Regards,
Paris Azerelli

Don't listen to this idiot. Don't buy copies or fake louis vuitton bag.
If you are attractive, men will look at you.
Only short girls or fat grand-mothers need a fake Louis Vuitton's bag,
they want to pretend being rich and successfull.
Their body is not pretty enought. they need a stupid copy to show off.

Too many stupid foreigners buy copies Gucci, Chanel... here in China.
If a country like China produces low quality copies and nobody buy them,
Then after a few months they will stop to produce copies.
because nobody buy them.

But if millions of tourists like Azerelli buy this copies, then they will continue to produce them.

If Nobody buy it, then they will not produce the copies any more.
A fake Louis vuitton bag, it looks like a farmer women bag.

The government should also stop this copies producers.
In West Europe, and in America people don't buy copies because their is no one on the market.
our government stricly forbid it. Jail punishment for the one who produce this bags or watches.

For Beijing, think the most popular shopping place for locals and tourists is Wangfujing, as it has lots of interesting goods and delicious street snacks.
(Location: Wangfujing)

For Shanghai, the no. 1 must-go shopping district is Nanjing Road. Being located next the world famous "The Bund", many locals and tourists visit Nanjing Road for the beautiful river scenery as well as its top local/international brands, luxury fashion and great food offerings.
