starting a business

Hiya,

Just putting it out there - am considering opening a foreign restaurant in China. If anyone, has any interest in joining me or can give me any help or advice that'd be great!!

I do not have such a great business background as such - more so a vision as to the type of restaurant and creative elements required.. If I were serious in getting started, I am looking for someone who can help out with the financial/business side of things..

Am not properly serious just now, but who knows what might happen in the near future!..

As a business owner, in my experience when you give someone something (money / product) to (run / start) a business the person does not have the drive, ambition or tenacity to stick with said business to make it work because they are not the one with anything to lose.

Not saying you yourself are like this but only my own experience tells me this repeatedly about most people.

If a person wants a business they will claw, scratch, climb over, fight, yell, scream do anything possible to make that business work. They can also make it work without fancy carpet and decorations.

You also do not have to answer to another person when it is "yours"

When I reach my final destination in April it is my plan to open a small business with as little money as possible. It will either fly or fail in the first 2 months.

I wish you the best of luck in your venture.

Piggerman, I think the word is "vested interest".

Lots of companies give their employees stocks and share of profits so that they will vested interest to see to it that the company succeeds.

Lately, I have also been thinking about starting a small spa business in Shanghai or somewhere, grow the brand and move into 2nd tier cities. No hanky panky business - strictly spa for wellness.

The international spa industry in China only started in 2004. Prior to that, spa means sex. But not anymore. International players are moving in and giving the industry a makeover and the reputation it deserves, as a wellness sanctuary.

Thanks for your message Piggerman,

Yeh, fair enough, I can see your point.

Of course if I had the financial means, extensive business knowledge and "drive" as such, yeah I would get this underway on my own (or would have already)...

Just now though, I don't to most of the above, hence why just now all I have is an idea and enquiries about ideas! I guess you have to start somewhere with any business, and the initial idea is where it begins smiling smiley.

Anyhow, shall see what happens.. If one day this goes ahead, I shall invite you for dinner winking smiley.

I would gladly accept your dinner invite.

Why not Start Your own Business by Setting up a FPE (Foreign Partnership Enterprise)?

In comparison with the Partnership Enterprise which has been available only to Chinese citizens, FPE (Foreign Partnership Enterprise) is newly available for foreigners who intend to start their own business here in Beijing. This is the most convenient way for you to set up your own business. Compared with WOFE or RO, you are relieved of doubly levied capital income tax, no additional process of application to the Beijing Commission of Commerce, no compulsory minimum registered capital, less expenses to maintain it, much more flexible and convenient when you close such business.

A business is only able to market its products and services effectively when it is able to meet directly with its clients or business leads and this can be possible only with the help of B2B appointment setting services.
