Shanghai Summer Internship is an 8 week-long internship program in Shanghai inclusive of housing and excursions offered by Mandarin Rocks on fixed staring date every summer. In 2012, the program starts on 06/25. Apply before 05/11.

Overview
Shanghai is on the fast track to becoming the cultural and economic center of Asia again, like it was a century ago. An Inclusive Summer Internship Experience
Welcoming, Housing, Excursions. Support. You’re guaranteed an internship and we take care of the details, too. You get Shanghai housing right in vibrant city centers.
Internship
Internships are generally full time (Mon-Fri, around 35-40 working hrs/week) and last 8 weeks. During the internship, you will receive full support from our program coordinator. The manager of host company will actively involve and guide you through the whole internship.
Housing
Our summer housing facilities in Shanghai offer the convenience and comfort necessary for an easy transition into living in the big city. Interns will reside in shared apartment in central Shanghai with easy access to public transportation and restaurants, supermarket, shops, banks and other living facilities nearby. Each intern will have separate single room and shared bathroom.
Excursions
Every weekend interns will explore a different city or interesting attraction near Shanghai with our counselors. These trips introduce you to the great diversity of Chinese culture and geography. In 2012, the travel destinations include two former capitals in Chinese history, Hangzhou and Suzhou, the famous ancient water town Qibao, the largest and best amusement park in China Songjiang Happy Valley and a unique "Agritainment" tour in Chongming Island.

Program Dates
Start 2012/06/25 (arrival 06/24, Sun to check in accommodation)
Finish 2012/08/17 (check out on 08/18 for departure)

Eligibility requirements
This program is open to applicants of all nationalities between 18-27yrs who have finished or pursuing university or college education. We are also looking for you to exhibit a strong academic record, and open for foreign travel and culture. Fluent English is essential; Chinese is NOT A MUST but an advantage. If you already speak some Chinese and would like to enhance Chinese skills at work, we will find you such company when possible.

Application deadline to this program is May 11, 2012. Later applicants might be possible but only accepted on case to case basis. We have a finite number of internships available in certain fields. Prospective students are encouraged to apply as early as possible to ensure the best opportunities for their interests, skills, and objectives.

Thanks for your information! My cousin is looking for a summer internship in Shanghai and I'm just glad that I came across this thread.I believe an internship will be a great experience for her.Well I have also known that about 60 percent of 2011's summer hires and interns became full-time employees. That is an all-time high. In the current difficult job industry, summer internships are becoming progressively important as a first foothold onto the professional ladder.
