Taipei Language Institute (TLI) was founded in New Jersey, U.S. in 1956, and set up school in Taipei the same year. In the last decade TLI has expanded into mainland China. A true leader in the industry of language instruction, with dozens of branches across the world, TLI has functioned as a model for others. Moreover, the institute has developed a distinctive teaching methodology, learning materials and assessment standards. TLI also boasts its own press – TLI Publishing House – where numerous Chinese teaching materials (in various editions for different nationalities), reference books, dictionaries, and magazines have been published independently.
Over the last half a century, more than 200 000 students across the world have chosen TLI for instruction and have become bilingually expert in fields of business, politics, academic life, journalism, trade, law and evangelism. TLI has won great respect as the authoritative Chinese language training institute.
In recent years, TLI has established centers in San Francisco (US), Toronto (Canada), Tokyo (Japan), and major cities in mainland China such as Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Suzhou, Dalian and Guangzhou. At present, in order to explore the global Chinese language training market, TLI is enthusiastically seeking cooperation with local language institutes in countries such as Spain, Germany, and Korea.
TLI has shone in the Chinese language industry as a result, not only of an explorer’s sensibility, but through endeavors to encourage an appreciation of the Chinese heritage. With its mission of furthering the understanding of Chinese customs and thinking across the globe, TLI has actively promoted cross-cultural exchange. To further the primary goal of satisfying the specific educational needs of its various students, TLI has exerted much effort in the past and will continue with dedicated effort into the future.
With five decades of experience, TLI has received much recognition within the educational realm. Named one of the "Top 10 Language Schools Worldwide" by China News, its programs continue to grow and its influence continues to spread.
