Are you curious about Chinese. To learn from TV and movie is a good way, not only from Chinese TVs, but also from your local episodes.
Did you laugh about Sheldon’s Chinese? Do you know what he is talking about? I really wanna know…… The first episode: Howard seems to speak Chinese, what did he say?
Howard tried to flirt with Penny, he exhibited his ability for languages and spoke Chinese ”xi ge tong kuai zao”. (Howard didn’t say the tone well, he sound like he was singing.) What do Chinese usually say under such situation? The Chinese Howard said could be similar to “Enjoy your shower”, ”Have fun for you shower”. Normally Chinese people would say some wishes before friends will do something, like “玩得痛快点!”(wan de tongkuai dian),which means “Have a good time!“ but they seldom make wishes just for shower. Is Howard's Mandarin good? Look at what the boss of the restaurant thought about Howard's Chinese(Actually I want to insert a picture of the episode, but I don't know how):"那个自以为会说普通话的人没来?"(Pinyin: nage ziyiwei huishuo putonghua de ren meilai?)which means: That guy who thinks he can speak Mandarin didn't come? Putonghua, is Mandarin, as every Chinese student knows, the offical language of China; zi yiwei: means a person has an opinion about something, but normally others don't think so;
