On Tuesday morning, Ping announced that it will sell 5,000 limited-edition all -Ping G20 Pink Driverfor in local pro shops starting on June 1. Five percent of the proceeds from the sale of the drivers will go to "Bubba Long in Pink. Driven by Ping," which is the company's portion of "Bubba & Friends Drive to a Million."
"We looked back at the last few days and realized that with all the tremendous energy Bubba has created with his win at the Masters and for our brand, we needed to do more with this opportunity to give back to those in need," said John A. Solheim, PING Chairman & CEO. "The response to the ping golf pink driver has exceeded expectations at this point, so we're increasing our commitment to help bring Bubba closer to his goal of raising $1 million for charity this year."
In GOLF Magazine's March issue, the G20 was reviewed alongside several other game-improvement drivers. Testers said it was, "One of the top-rated models. A worthy descendant to a long line of great drivers." You can read the complete review here.
The Ping G20 Pinkis a contender for a full time spot in my bag. It still has some work to do, as do I, but this driver makes it worth putting time in on the range and on the course. Although I'm generally not a fan of the stock shaft for myself and my game, I think for the most part it will be fine for the majority of golfers out there.
