Hey guys.


I just thought I would make a post for those who have interest in Learning English or improving their English.

I am coming closer to finishing my English TEFL course and although most of what I have learnt is more useful in a classroom I can adapt to working with people online.

I currently use MSN, SKYPE and QQ. So even if you would just like to talk via txt or even voice chat I would be more than happy to help out and listen.


I just want to point out that I am from the UK near London. So some of your may be more familiar with American English as i assume most of your textbooks from school were American English.

It's a nice opportunity and I would like to get to know more of you here. I am heading off to China hopefully around July / August so I won't have as much free time for long!

You might want to tone down your Brit accent when in China. Most Chinese find it hard to understand.

Some parents would actually ask whats the difference and which is better for my child to learn?? American English vs British English. Other than an accent and a few different spellings and terms (I say Vacuum cleaner, Steve says Hoover)there is no difference. I am sure it would take Steves ears a few minutes to get used to my American accent.

Just dont throw Blarney at me Steve cause i wouldnt have any idea what you were saying.

When it comes to what's best for your child or anyone to learn is down to them. I don't judge people for how they learn English.

When I say British English do many people think of the old top hats, and old movies of English speaking actors? lol.


I have a few friends who prefer English from England mostly because of the accent. It's all down to preference and by communicating with many Chinese friends and having been to China myself I know how to control my language in order for them to understand easier.

In regards to text, many Chinese friends have no problem at all. I think when it comes to doing IELTS their biggest problem might be in the listening practice, however everyone learns differently

For learning language means you have to behave like them. So I would suggest you that. You should go abroad like UK, USA, Australia for learning English courses. So that you won't have any other option rather than English to speak.

By the way i can also give you some advice on finding a university in shenzhen as i have information about the foreign affairs office of some university in shenzhen. well ,if you have other university in your mind i can help too. About the FAO in shenzhen that's the infromation that my former oral english teacher asked me to collect as a favor because he was considering working in shenzhen. my university may need an oral english teacher as one of them is going back home this June. well, you may be curious why i know all this thing? i work for the foreign affairs office.

If you want to learn english for less pay. Go to the Philippines. Most koreans went to that country just to study english. There are also online courses for english but it's much better to be in a class, learning together.
