Conversation 1 : Where do you go this morning?

-	Jīntiān 今天 shàngwǔ 上午 nǐ 你 qù 去 nǎr ? 哪儿？

-	Wǒ 我 qù 去 Běijīng 北京 Fàndiàn. 饭店。

-	Nǐ 你 qù 去 Běijīng 北京 Fàndiàn 饭店 gàn 干 shénme? 什么？

-	Wǒ 我 qù 去 nàr 那儿 kàn 看 yí 一 gè 个 péngyou. 朋友。

Translation

- Where do you go this morning?

- I go to the "Beijing Hotel".

- What for? ( You go to the Beijing Hotel to do what )

- I go there to see a friend.

Conversation 2 : Who are you going with?

-	Nǐ 你 gēn 跟 shéi 谁 yìqǐ 一起 qù? 去？

-	Wǒ 我 gēn 跟 wǒ 我 de 的 nǚpéngyou 女朋友 yìqǐ 一起 qù. 去。

Translation

- Who are you going with? ( with who together are you going )

Conversation 3 : Do you have free time?

-	Jīntiān 今天 xiàwǔ 下午 nǐ 你 yǒu 有 kòngr 空儿 ma? 吗？

-	Sāndiǎn 3点 yǐqián 以前 wǒ 我 méi 没 yǒu 有 kòngr. 空儿。

-	Xiàwǔ 下午 wǒ 我 qù 去 kàn 看 diànyǐng. 电影。

	Nǐ 你 qù 去 bú 不 qù ? 去？

-	Qù. 去。 Kàn 看 diànyǐng 电影 yǐhòu 以后 nǐ 你 xiǎng 想 qù 去 nǎr ? 哪儿？

Translation

- This afternoon ( today afternoon ), do you have free time?

- Before 3pm, I don't have free time.

- This afternoon I go to watch a movie. Do you want to go?

- Yes. And after the movie, where do you want to go?

Conversation 4 : Shall we go to the restaurant?

-	Wǒmen 我们 yìqǐ 一起 qù 去 fànguǎnr 饭馆儿 chīfàn, 吃饭， hǎo 好 ma? 吗？

-	Xíng. 行。 Xiànzài 现在 nǐ 你 shàng 上 nǎr 哪儿 qù ? 去？

-	Wǒ 我 qù 去 shāngdiàn 商店 mǎi 买 dōngxi. 东西。

Translation

- We go together to eat in a restaurant, ok?

- Ok. Where are you going now?

- I'm going to buy some stuff?

Grammar

The preposition 跟 (with)

The prepositional construction 跟... is very often used in front of the verb as an adverbial adjunct.

Example:

- 你跟谁一起去商店？ Who do you go to the shop with?

- 我跟朋友一起去商店。 I go to the shop with friends

Negative form : 没

The negative form of the verb 有 is 没有.

Example:

- 你有空儿吗？ Do you have free time?

- 我没有空儿。 I don't have free time.
