Grammar

Pivotal sentence

There is a kind of sentence composed of two verbal constructions in which the object of the first verb is at the same time the subject of the following verb. Such sentence is known as pivotal sentence.
Example: the verb 请 (qǐng) can be used as the first verb in this kind of sentence.
