Language programs

SCNU understands that one of the greatest concerns for international students studying in China is the development of their spoken and written Chinese. As a result,SCNU provides Chinese and Cantonese language and learning advises to help improve Chinese and develop study skills.

Chinese language courses
Fall semester / 1 semester / september - january
Short term / 1 to 4 months
Spring semester / 1 semester / march - july

Fees

  • Language student tuition fees:
    - 1 month: RMB 2500
    - 2 months: RMB 5000
    - 3 months: RMB 6200
    - 1 semester: RMB 7900
  • Registration fees: RMB 420
  • Accomodation fees:
    The price of a single room is 50 RMB per day.
    Basic facilities of foreign students' study bedroom (single room) include: Balcony, Toilet, Air-conditioner, Water heater, TV set, Telephone, Purified water machine, Computer table, Writing Desk, Wardrobe, Bed etc.
    There are public washing machines and kitchens between every two stories.

CIntermediate Chinese (1)fit for students who have studies Chinese language for 10-12 months, or as an equivalent to HSK Grade 3;
DIntermediate Chinese (2)fit for students who have studies Chinese language for 16-18 months, or as an equivalent to HSK Grade 4;
EAdvanced Chinese (1)fit for students who have studies Chinese language for 2 years, or as an equivalent to the level of HSK Grade 5; Advanced Chinese (1) is equivalent to the level of the third academic year of a four year study.
FAdvanced Chinese (2)fit for students who have studies Chinese language for 2 years, or as an equivalent to the level of HSK Grade 6; Advanced Chinese (1) is equivalent to the level of the fourth academic year of a four year study.

Cantonese language program

Cantonese as a regional dialect originally in the Pearl River Delta, which is the Southern part of Guangdong Province, of which Guangzhou is the capital city. In the past around century, with the spreading of people to nearly all parts of the world, Cantonese is also widely used next to the standard Chinese, which is also known as Mandarin.
