GuilinThe Chinese Language InstituteThe Chinese Language Institute (CLI) does away with the old-fashioned classroom environment in favor of the proven superior method – fluency through interaction, experience and immersion. Live and learn in China with Chinese graduate students while participating in multiple, intensive one-on-one language lessons everyday with a carefully selected team of highly-qualified language instructors. Immersion ProgramAll of CLI’s courses are taught with a one-to-one student-to-teacher ratio. This is essential to rapid improvement in the Mandarin language. CLI’s Immersion Program was created on the principle that there must be constant communication between a language student and his or her teacher, creating a continuous and mutual stream of feedback. No matter the level of your Chinese language ability, CLI’s unique educational environment provides the conditions necessary for rapid language development. In addition, you will have the option of taking up to twenty hours per week of language and culture courses at Guangxi Normal University (GXNU). The Chinese Language Institute does not require that its students take courses at GXNU. Language and culture electives are offered purely as a supplement to CLI's Immersion Program. Integrated HousingEssential to reaching proficiency in the Chinese language is your learning environment. All too often, language programs isolate their students into large international dormitories. While studying at The Chinese Language Institute, you will share a three bedroom apartment with two Chinese graduate students. All students are provided with private, one person per bedroom accommodations – your advantage is that these accommodations are within the Chinese language environment. Rather than being isolated away from the Mandarin language, you will be immersed into it. In language study, one's greatest progress comes outside of the classroom!
