Introduction

ZSTU is located in the “International Garden City” Hangzhou, a city renowned for its history, culture and economical performance. It stems from the Sericultural Academy founded in 1897, and now has a history of 100 odd years.
It was named Zhejiang Institute of Silk Textile, Zhejiang Institute of Science and Technology at different stages and since May 2004, approved by the Ministry of Education, its name has been changed into Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (Pinyin:Zhejiang Ligong Daxue).

Hangzhou

Hangzhou is situated at the south end of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal with a distance of 151 kilometers to Shanghai. It is the central city in the southern wing of Yangtze River Delta, one of the six largest city circles in the world (with a population of 6,516,800).
Endowed with a unique natural environment along with a culture accumulation of thousands of years, Hangzhou is hailed as “Heaven on Earth”. There are two national scenic areas: the West Lake Scenic Area and the “Two Rivers and one lake”; Bejing-Hangzhou Grand Canal-the longest canal of the world; and 14 units of national key cultural relic sites and 3 national museums.

Living conditions

ZSTU has university clinic, stores, library, exhibition hall, cafeteria, gym, stadium, swimming pool, outdoor courts for playing volleyball, basketball, football and etc. Other facilities such as hospital, banks, post offices and supermarket around the campus provide students with convenient services. ZSTU provides international students with comfortable dormitories equipped with TV set, telephone, air conditioning, washing machine, fridge, microwave oven, water heater , kitchen utensils and ADSL network.
