productive is not to be constrained by the book. I always work with my students to create custom daily dialogues with the words that they can use immediately

in their daily life. This is what makes private or small group lessons with me so effective. My students, both old and new, always tell me two things. First,

that I have a positive attitude and that this helped them learn more Mandarin. Second, that they like my jokes and magic tricks!
