if you want some info on chinese rock you can read through this thread (i think you can read without registering) and also check the rock in china wiki.

carsick cars, p.k.14 and av okubo are touring the west coast of north america as we speak.

And yet we find that there has more than 3.7 million chinese immigrants in USA,no mention to chinese in other western countries, the total number supposedly more than 10 millions, you idiot. The number of westerner in China is definitely less than 0.5 million, you stupid asshole。Last time I heard it is said in 2009 China have only about 0.3 milliom long-term(more than 3 year) foreign residents.
In your dream,China is a multiracial country like US or Canada, only in your dream.

I'm always curious how songs that never were very popular in the West become so popular here like Yesterday once more and big big world. Why are they strongly pushed...

Yeah, western songs are often used as background noise. Most of the time, Chinese folks don't even know what's playing.

The real music being followed are usually pop songs from HK or Taiwan. Personally I prefer music/songs from HK.

Slower and easier to sing songs are always more popular. Karaoke with friends is one of the social activities in China. Anyone can sing Big Big Girl and Yesterday once more. Doesn't require major singing skills to do so. You can hear most of the Chinese songs are also slow and easier to sing like classics. And people like to pick the songs they are familiar with. They will pick a easy song that they have practiced thousands of times to feel comfortable not making fools of themselves, especially in front of strangers. Depends on the friend types. Some types like to boo people when they ruin a song with bad skills so a lot of people just sing songs that are safe. Some types are adventurous that love seeing others do adventurous things too like sing rap whether or not they can rap. But it all depends. People here prefer safe so they don't piss anyone off.

Black Eyed Peas is popular in China too, but no one sings their songs because of the high skill requirement to pull it off. So people only listen to them. And because they don't sing their songs once that song is out of date it will become a forgotten song.

Chinese songs that are converted into English are also very popular. "Wen Bie" = "Take me to your heart". A song probably never heard of in western countries is very well known here. Slow, easy and doesn't require skills to pull this song off. But not to get confused this song can apply good singing skills to give a wow factor.

Chinese people like to sing. So if they can sing the song most likely they wil remember it.

an African friend, from Ghana, Gabon, who came in my country for studying.
He said to me that most of American pop are copies of African Music.
Africans are very creative in music field.
They produce many new pop, electro songs and so on.
I didn't believe him really. Then i listened some of his CD and tapes, that was really the same melody as American hits.
American hits producers steal young Africans music. They copy African music since decades.

Most people in China listen to American music.

I think American music is more better than Chinese music.

I like rock, it makes me happy.
