I think it's because I don't get to see them in real life, so conversations, although often, are all electronic based.
No, we probably wouldn't say it with every conversation if we lived in the same house, but we certainly say it with each 'goodbye'.
Maybe I'm just extra-blessed. I love my kids, and even though I am a grandmother now, and my kids are bigger than me, I still gather them into my arms for a cuddle - they will always be my babies.
I really can't see the harm in showing affection to your children. I fail to see how withholding affection can make a child a more balanced and stable adult.
