Will a sincere and ethical chinese woman marry a man with a DWI conviction? Is it against there religion, or might they be forgiving and realize even good people screw up sometimes?

What religion? China is a mostly atheist country and the people are mostly very forgiving.

Northern China, but Chengchun in particular. It seems like China is a fairly conservative country with strong values, and that someone with even a small conviction like DWI would be looked down upon.

If you talking Xinjiang which is North West and the woman you know is Muslim where alcohol is frowned upon then you may have an issue. But if she is looking at engaging in a relationship with a non-muslim then she may have the issue or her family will not sure the DWI will matter. But if she just a Chinese woman don't worry China is not conversative and have no real values not sure where you got that idea.

The China you imagine doesn't exist anymore, the cultural revolution took care of the religious and cultural strings and 40 years of starvation and very hard living has made Chinese people very flexible with morality at times.

Yes, the Chinese population is so huge it's not easy to describe a typical Chinese anymore. There are Chinese women who would marry an 80 year old grandfather for money.

Sincere and ethical woman? That's becoming a dying breed, I'm afraid.
