Is Dalian - 大连 a Chinese traditional city?

Hi folks, I would like to know if Dalian is a "traditional" area of China. Did being occupied by the Russians after World War II change the traditional attitudes of the people in terms of behaviour, dress, culture, and so on.

It's not a traditional city. It's a modern city like most of the East coast of China. If you want to see truly traditional cities in China you have to go South or West. The East has some "traditional" cities but I put that in quotes because they aren't really. They are tourist traps, they look old but they are just there to make you buy lots of crap. Go tour around Yunnan, GuiZhou and the West if you want real traditional views.
