These 3 words sound so close to say them would give some trouble. I would mix these questions up and ask at random off the wall times for fun.

Do I (small, smile, smell) good?

Is she (smell, smile, small)?

She has a pretty (small, smell, smile)

Am I small?
Is my smile good?
Do I smell good?

Does she smell?
Is she smiling?
Is she small?

She is pretty small.
She smells pretty.
She has a pretty smile.

Grammar isn't the most important thing in the world but still better for English learners to practise proper grammar when they can smiling smiley

Good idea for some tongue twisters, will have to do those sounds next I think!

My school owner told me to "smell" when I teach my students. I thought I had body odor until a few weeks later I realized he meant "smile"

Lol thats funny. This was exactly what i was refering to.

I would ask do i small good?? ( as i sniff myself) allow them to make the correction.

To write these most students do not make an error, To say them can lead to much fun while mixing them up.

Most Westerners have problems pronouncing these Chinese words, too:
sì (four)
sǐ (die)
shí (ten)

Can you say this fast:
sì shí ren sǐ le (40 people died).

Been thru that drill with my 6 year old. Her mother must have said it over 1000 times with the child repeating it back.

Repetition is always a good way to learn but progression overall on the topic can be slow.

Chineseethan seems to have some good content. I think tongue twisters are definitely a challenge for anyone :p

The site is down right now, but it will be back up later this week. Lots of big changes coming which should help get people more active online.
